Last week saw the Inniskeen side meet St Annes for the last game in the Louth League. It was a poor scoring match with a total score of 2-04 to Inniskeen's 1-02. Scorers for the Inniskeen side were Liz McConnon 1-0 and Josie Fitzpatrick 0-02. However, Inniskeen have enough points on the league table to secure them a place in this year's Louth League Final. (Fixtures for this game TBA).
The girls had a busy weekend, with only a few days rest after meeting St Annes, they confronted Clontibret on Monday night in Pairc Grattan. This was the second last game to be played in the Monaghan League. Inniskeen were determined not to let Clontibret away with a win and each girl hammered home the scores to secure another 2 points on the route to the league final. Issy Kierans was in top form and Clontibret had no answer in stopping her powering through their defense. Alice mcGahon was in game mode from the throw in and was on target with 2 excellent points from play. Half time score was Inniskeen 0-08 to Clontibret 0-00. Inniskeen had made a point of winning this game by thrashing the Clontibret side in the second half with a final score of 5-12 to 0.02. Match Scorers: Liz McConnon 2-02, Alice McGahon 0-02. Pauline Woods 2-01, Geraldine Fitz. 1-01, Issy Kierans 0-02 and Sharon MCGahon 0-04.
Congratulations to the Inniskeen Hurlers who defeated Castleblayney in the Senior County Hurling Final on Sunday last.
