Note for Your Diary:

Inniskeen V St. Annes in the Louth League Final, this Thursday 19th Aug in Stabannon. Please show your support to the girls an encourage them on bringing home some silverwear.

Sunday last saw the Inniskeen ladies tog out for the first round of the Championship. Our first meeting was against a Truagh side that Inniskeen knew would not be an easy win. From the throw in and a miss ball in the mid field, Truagh had relayed the ball up and had gotten the first score. it was tit for tat outfield for most of the game, but Truagh first few scores didnt stop Inniskeen from hurling the ball up and answering with a few scores of their own! The two teams went in at half time on level ground, with a score of 1-04 to 2-01. The heat from the first half had everyone tired and the second half would be no easy 30 minutes. Carol mcGahon did trojan work to keep Siobhan McKenna out of the game completely, and by blocking every ball that came her way and left Siobhan scoreless at the end of the game. Issy Kierans battled hard in centre forward but with very technical refereeing, Truagh managed to keep totting up their scores, most of them coming from frees. Inniskeen did hard work and managed another 2-02 and after both teams putting in great effort, it ended on a draw! Final Score 4-03 to 2-09.

Good Luck:
We would all like to wish team mates Izzy Kierans, Edel Kierans and Liz McConnon and the Monaghan team the best of luck in the County All Ireland Camogie Final this Sunday.
Also best of luck to Izzy Kierans who will tog out in the Monaghan All Ireland Football Quarter Finals this Saturday v Laois.
