Two very exciting and important games were played last week by the Inniskeen troops as the final two games of the County Championship were held. The first match was against Clontibret on Thursday last in Castleblayney. Pure heart and determination saw the Inniskeen side secure a win against the Clontibret side. With the ever fighting Kierans duo in top form, Clontibret had no answer to Inniskeen battling forward and the red and greens left Castleblayney with a win.

The second and more important game was held last Sunday in Killany against the Castleblayney girls. Both Inniskeen and Blayney were on level points so both teams had all to play for to secure a place in this years Championship final. Inniskeen were definately the more hungry side, and with excellent play from Maggie Boylan and Sarah Flynn in defence, the Blayney girls could not tally up enough scores. However, Inniskeen were in scoring form and set up some excellent points from play that showed the talent the Inniskeen side have on offer. With Linda Callan and Edel Kierans sending every ball into the forward line, Inniskeen defeated the Blayney side with a score of 4-06 to 0-05 points.

Inniskeen have now reached the Championship Final, and will play either Castleblayney or Clontibret depending on a play off which will be held this week. Best of Luck girls, we know you can do it. (Time, date and venue to be announced, but keep an eye out in local shops for more details)
