Grattan Oige:
Our two U14 teams kicked off their season last Saturday with both teams at home to Latton. Our 2nd team played their game first and put up a spirited performance going down by 5-6 to 8-8. Much can be taken from this game as we were in it up until the end but unfortunately the goal tally let us down.
The 1st team however were short a number of key players through injury and we were very exposed upfront. Our defence coped well and with any luck some of our injured will be back for the next game to strengthen our attack. Conor Gernon and Conor Downey gave good performances and we will look to build on these for our next outing which is a challenge match against Knockbridge on Thursday evening in Pairc Grattan at 7.30 pm.
Our U12s kick off their Spring League on Saturday at home against Carrick with a 2 o’clock kickoff. Training continues on Monday nights for the U12s.
